    I’m not convinced that this actually occurred, or at least as it has been publicly described. Maybe something bad happened, but it probably isn’t what his enemies are saying. It’s very convenient to make such allegations after a person can no longer defend themselves. I strongly believe a person is innocent until proven guilty, and these accusations bore all the hallmarks of a hit job. The reason I am so skeptical is this:

    “After the scandal broke, I saw people using his mistakes as an opportunity to discredit everything he’s ever done and talked about. I’m not entirely sure if I’m on board with that. I don’t agree with this notion that if someone is proven to be a hypocrite then everything they’ve ever preached is wrong. “

    This is not the behavior of people who are looking for the truth. This is what propagandists and politicians (I repeat myself) do.
